Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) Review
Missoula Montana Airport (MSO) is a small regional airport that is SO ADORABLE. The newly renovated terminal is modern but warm, clean, and easy to navigate, making it a pleasant entry point into Western Montana/ Idaho.
Pros:
Updated Terminal: There are spacious seating areas, large windows with mountain views, and a generally fresh, modern feel.
Friendly Staff: From TSA agents to airline employees, most interactions are warm and welcoming (from an airport perspective)
Local Flair: There is regional artwork and decor that reflects the outdoors vibe.
Gates/Security: The gates are steps away from the security area
Rental Counter: The car rental counters are in the baggage claim area AND the rental cars ae parked right next to the airport parking- no shuttle!
Cons:
Limited Food Options: There is one full-service restaurant, one coffee shop, and one small market with limited snack options past the security area, and a coffee bar in the civilian area.
Few Direct Flights: As a smaller airport, MSO has limited nonstop routes. That being said, I live next to a Delta hub, so it's great for me.
Security: They stack flights at MSO, so security can be a very long wait. My pre-check wait at MSO was the longest I've ever experienced (~20 minutes).
Tips:
Arrive early for your flight, even the pre-check line takes a while.
Grab food or coffee before heading through security or bring snack if you have strong eating preferences.
Pokemon:
There are 3 Pokestops and 1 Gym in the airport area
There are not a lot of spawns
There is not a lot of room to walk around and catch Pokemon using an incense
Overall Rating: 4.5/5
